We are now proudly displaying Evenheat LB Series in our shop!
The LB Series design was inspired by great feedback from the knife making community as well as culinary and long-blade makers. Knife makers needed to use the entire length of the chamber without overheating their blades at the back wall. We took a fresh look at our designs and created the side-only heating element LB Series.
The results are incredible: front to back temperature distribution is dead-nut. Whether you're making culinary, tactical, fixed blades, folders, doing gun work or something else entirely, the LB Series sets the new standard!
The LB Series represents the ultimate mix of bladesmith input and Evenheat design. The LB is quite simply the finest heat treat oven on the planet!

Side Only Element Design
The LB Series design was inspired, in part, by culinary bladesmiths who generally make long, thin blades blades. These bladesmiths needed to use the entire length of the chamber without overheating their blades at the back wall. We took a fresh look, got rid of the rear wall heating element, and nailed it.
The front to back temperature distribution in the LB is incredibly even. Positioning in the chamber has no effect and the entire length can be used.
The LB, with it's side-only element design, is the new standard!
Solid State Relay Option
All LB models are available with our Quiet Drive Solid State Relay option.
A good portion of the LB's success is related to our solid state relay design. Solid state reacts much more quickly than standard mechanical relays which translates into very precise temperature control. Solid state does so without the given, eventual failure of a mechanical relay. We fully expect our solid state relay to last the life of the unit.
Side Opening Door
Heat treating requires the removing of some very hot material from the chamber in order to quench. Everything in the chamber is hot, which includes the door. The doors on the LB's swing out and to the side, a full 180° if you need it. This puts the super-heated door well away from you as you concentrate on the work at hand.
The side opening door is an excellent design choice and makes all the difference.
Cool Touch Handle
The handle/latch on our swing out door is conveniently located at the front of the door, not hidden along the side. This spring loaded, phenolic handle is cool to the touch, is one-handed in design and serves as the door latch as well.
Many thanks to those who have offered feedback on our door handle/latch. We have updated the design to make centering, inserting and all-around operation cleaner and easier!
Multiple Control Options
Evenheat works closely with control manufacturers SDS Industries and Bartlett Instruments to bring you the best in performance, features and programming ease.
The LB Series models are available with the very popular TAP touchscreen control by SDS Industries as well as the Rampmaster 3 and Set-Pro controls by Bartlett Instrument.
Loud Alarm Output Jack
LB models are standard equipped with a Loud Alarm Output Jack for use with our Loud Alarm Option.
All of our controls feature an audible alarm. These alarms let you know when you've reached temperature, and more importantly, when it's time to quench. These alarms however, aren't really loud enough to break through the noise found in a working shop. In response, we've included an alarm output jack on the bottom of the control enclosure that allows you to plug in our Loud Alarm (sold separately). Just plug it in and enjoy 80db of irritating alarm bliss.
Relay Access Port
All LB models incorporate our Relay Access Port for simple, no-panel-off relay replacement.
Simply remove the access plate to gain access to the relay. There's no need to remove the control panel and dig into the internal wiring. It's absolutely simple and effective and all it takes is a screwdriver!
It's a given that mechanical relays will fail at some point. This relay access port really comes in handy when they do.
The LB's feature a door shield to provide protection against firebrick damage as well as to reduce the temperature seen at the door and door handle.
2200°F (1204°C) Maximum Temperature
The maximum usable temperature for the LB models is 2200°F (1204°C). This maximum is well within the range for the vast majority of steels used by knife makers and machine shops.
Swing View Control Enclosure
The TAP and Rampmaster temperature controls used on the LB's are fitted into our Swing View Adjustable Enclosure. (The Set-Pro control is flat-panel mounted)
The Swing View is a pivoting, swing-up enclosure that allows you to rotate the control to a comfortable viewing and programming angle. Once you're done, lay it back down to see it from across the shop. It's that simple.
The swing view pairs well with TAP touchscreen control as viewing angle can be perfectly aligned. You'll love it.
Strong Stand and Tool Rest
The LB's feature our updated stand design that delivers a strong, supportive base and tool rest.
The TAP is our premier temperature controller: its wonderfully simple operation, excellent control capability and well laid-out touchscreen just rock. The TAP is, by far, the best performing and best selling heat treat temperature control.
Nowhere is simple-use more evident than in the single touch needed to access your heat treat programs. Just touch the Start key and all of your programs are immediately displayed for selection. Programs are displayed in full, easy to read text.
Creating your heat treat programs follows this relaxed feel as well. The TAP walks you through the process with on-screen displays and text that are easily understood and followed. Once created, your programs stay as long as you want them. The TAP has lots of room so feel free to create as many as you wish.
Temperature control is tight and on the mark. Overshoot and ripple are kept to a bare minimum, particularly when coupled with our Quiet Drive Solid State output. Consistency is not an issue as the TAP performs reliably time after time.
The manufacturer of the TAP (SDS Industries) has created an App for the TAP which is available in both iOS and Android. Access to the app is available through the TAP's built-in USB Wi-Fi or Ethernet ports.
The Rampmaster 3 is our traditional full featured control and features a 4 digit display. It contains 12 program slots to store your favorite heat treat programs. To recall them just select your User number and you're ready to go.
Other features include a numbered keypad, program review key and the ability to work with our Quiet Drive Solid State Relay System.
Power Interrupt Switch
Our optional power interrupt switch removes power from all heating elements as the door is opened and reapplies power as the door is closed.
The switch used for this feature is a true safety switch and is designed specifically for safety applications. Those wishing to enter the oven during use should strongly consider requesting this option as an added measure of safety.
